The North Hilo police station in Laupāhoehoe will be closed to the public Monday and Tuesday (January 18-19) for maintenance and repairs.

During that time, residents in the area who want to register a firearm may make an appointment at either the South Hilo police station by calling 961-2239 or at the Honokaʻa police station by calling 775-7533.

Anyone wishing to leave a message for an officer stationed in North Hilo may call the Honokaʻa police station at 775-7533.

As always, for police assistance please call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. In an emergency, call 911.

The North Hilo police station in will reopen on Wednesday (January 20).
