Media Release (update)

As a result of the nine search warrants executed Tuesday (March 1) at various locations in Hilo, Kona, Waimea and Honokaʻa, 124 gambling machines were recovered, along with approximately $150,000 in cash.

Three persons were arrested on suspicion of gambling: 30-year-old Justin D. Alpert of Kailua-Kona, 22-year-old Brenda K. Reynolds of Kailua-Kona, and 36-year-old Rodney K. Worley of Honokaʻa. All three were released pending further investigation.

A previous media release incorrectly identified one of the establishments as being on Lanikaula Street in Hilo. The correct location was on Kawailani Street.
