A Kona man is in police custody in connection with a fatal shooting Thursday morning (March 31) in Kona.

In response to a report of a woman with a gunshot wound at a home in the Kona Highland subdivision, officers found the woman unresponsive with a fatal gunshot wound to the head at a home on the 73-1200 block of Mahilani Drive.

She has been identified as 62-year-old Marsha Mansker of Kailua-Kona.

Her husband, 70-year-old James Mansker, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of second-degree murder. He was taken to the Kona police cellblock while detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigations Section continue the investigation.
