A body found in South Kohala last month has been identified as that of a Pāhoa man who had been reported missing.

On June 25, the body of an unidentified man was found on the side of Kawaihae Road. On June 30, the deceased was identified as 64-year-old Michael John David. David had been reported missing and had last been seen in Kalapana on May 20.

An autopsy conducted on June 30 indicated no signs of foul play. The exact cause of death was deferred pending the results of further testing.
