Sergeant Christopher D. Gali

Report No. C15021070

Media Release (update)

An autopsy conducted Tuesday (July 21) determined that a man who died Saturday (July 18) after being involved in a one-vehicle traffic collision on Kanoelehua Avenue in Hilo died from a medical condition.

He has been identified as 61-year-old Thomas Pokorski of Covina, California.

Because he died of a medical condition and not as a result of the crash, the death does not count toward the official traffic fatality count.
