Hawaiʻi Island police are searching for a 27-year-old Kealakekua man wanted for questioning in connection with a robbery.

Alihilani Joshua Stringert is described as 5-foot-11, 180 pounds with brown eyes, short brown hair and tattoos on his arms.

Shortly before 2 p.m. on September 10, a man took a purse from a 54-year-old Captain Cook woman as she was about to enter a business establishment on the 74-5000 block of Kaiwi Street in Kailua-Kona. The suspect fled in a charcoal gray Nissan Altima 4-door sedan.

Investigation identified Stringert as a person of interest.

Police ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311 or to contact Detective Carrie Akina at 326-4646, Extension 277, or carrie.akina@hawaiicounty.gov.
