Hawaiʻi Island police are searching for a 16-year-old girl who was reported missing.

Kuuipo Taketa was last seen in Hilo on July 1. She is described as Japanese/Filipino, 5-foot-2, 103 pounds with black hair, brown eyes, a fair complexion and a slim build. She has scars on her left forearms and on both thighs.

Police ask anyone with information on her whereabouts to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the islandwide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
