14 arrested in execution of six search warrants 09-07-04

Big Island police executed six search warrants last week in East Hawaii and arrested 14 suspects on a variety of drug offenses.

At about 5 p.m., Wednesday (September 1, 2004), East Hawaii Ice Task Force and Vice Section officers executed a search warrant at a Hilinai Street residence in Hilo and recovered 0.3 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 27.1 grams of dried marijuana, drug paraphernalia and $940 in cash. Officers arrested Chris Eblancas, 35, Ardis Spencer, 28, and Jeraldine Spencer, 54, all of the Hilinai Street address, for promoting a dangerous drug, promoting a detrimental drug and illegal possession of drug paraphernalia. They also arrested Norma Jean Bardo, 34, of a Waiwai Street address, after recovering 0.2 grams of crystal methamphetamine on her person. Eblancas was charged with promoting a dangerous drug, promoting a detrimental drug and illegal possession of drug paraphernalia and released on his own recognizance. The other three were released pending further investigation.

At 2 p.m. Thursday, vice officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Palapalai Street in the Hawaiian Paradise Park subdivision of Puna and recovered 500 cloned marijuana plants from an indoor growing operations, 20 potted marijuana plants in the yard, 4.06 pounds of dried marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the residence and an unregistered revolver. Officers arrested Mallory Vincent, 45, and Peggy Neilsen, 70. Both suspects were charged with commercial promotion of marijuana and released on their own recognizance.

At 2:40 p.m. Friday, vice offers executing a search warrant at a residence in Paauhau Camp in Honokaa recovered 5.3 grams of dried marijuana and drug paraphernalia. They arrested Lawrence Fujioka, 41, and Nicole Hassan, 27. Fujioka was charged with promoting a detrimental drug and released on his own recognizance. Hassan was released pending further investigation.

At 2:40 p.m. Friday, vice officers executed a search warrant on a residence in the New Stable Camp in Honokaa and recovered 11.5 grams of crystal methamphetamine, miscellaneous drug paraphernalia associated with “ice” consumption, 14 unregistered firearms and ammunition, a Toyota truck, two four-wheelers and a dirt bike. They arrested Oscar W. Bueno, 45, of New Stable Camp, and Dwayne Alip, 42, of Kailua-Kona, for promoting a dangerous drug and illegal possession of drug paraphernalia. Bueno was released on $11,000 bail; Alip was released on $4,000 bail.

At 4 p.m. Friday, vice officers arrested Kimberly Dilmore-Pryor, 42, of an Ilima Street address in Honokaa, for selling crystal methamphetamine to an undercover officer. Dilmore-Pryor was charged with three counts of promoting a dangerous drug and released on her own recognizance.

Finally, at 4 p.m. Saturday, vice officers executed a search warrant as a Kalopa Mauka residence in Honokaa and recovered about 2.1 grams of crystal methamphetamine, various scales, zip packets and glass smoking pipes. They arrested Dennis Paul Joaquin, 56, of the Kalopa Mauka address, Gary Dias Souza, 45, Paauilo, and Charles May, 40, of Honokaa. Joaquin was charged with promotion of a dangerous drug, possession of illegal drug paraphernalia and illegal possession of a firearm. Souza was charged with promotion of a dangerous drug and illegal possession of drug paraphernalia. May was charged with promotion of a dangerous drug and illegal possession of drug paraphernalia. Joaquin is being held in the Hilo police cellblock in lieu of $45,000 bail; Souza is being held in lieu of $8,000 bail; and May was released on his own recognizance.
