Hawaiʻi Island police are seeking witnesses to an incident involving two cars in Hilo on Tuesday afternoon (June 7).
At approximately 5 p.m. Tuesday, a Puna woman and her passengers reported to South Hilo Patrol officers that they were traveling in a 2005 black Chrysler 300 in the parking lot of a shopping establishment on the 300 block of Makaʻala Street, when they were threatened by a male driver and three female occupants of another car.
The incident continued through Pōhaku Street and eventually onto Railroad Avenue, where one of the female occupants threw a large rock, which stuck the Chrysler as it was traveling on the road. The suspect vehicle, described as a gray Mazda sedan, left the scene in an unknown direction.
Police have initiated terroristic threatening and criminal property damage investigations in connection with this incident.
