Big Island police have charged two Puna men in connection with a burglary early Christmas morning at a business establishment at Waiakea Center in Hilo.  

Detectives assigned to the Criminal Investigations Section charged 21-year-old Louie Clibourne of Pahoa and 18-year-old Bradley Young of Keaau with second-degree burglary on Tuesday evening (December 26). Clibourne was also charged with second-degree theft, possession of burglars' tools and third-degree promotion of a detrimental drug. 

Both men are being held at the Hilo police cellblock pending their initial court appearances. Bail was set at $1,000 for Young and $2,150 for Clibourne. 

At about 1:40 a.m. Monday (December 25) South Hilo patrol officers responded to a report of a break-in by a security guard working for the nearby Prince Kuhio Plaza. He had observed two men within the fenced garden area of the store at Waiakea Center. He reported that they fled in a vehicle, and he furnished police with a description. Investigating officers located the vehicle a short while later and arrested the occupants.
