Items recovered at suspected meth lab
On July 6, 2006, officers from the Police Department's Area I and II Vice Section, along with agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration executed a search warrant at a residence on Oahu Street, Nanawale Subdivision in the district of Puna for crystal methamphetamine.
Upon execution of the search warrant, officers discovered a methamphetamine conversion laboratory within the residence. Precursors, a small amount of crystal methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia were recovered. The hazardous material located at the scene was disposed by a hazardous waste company.
Police arrested and charged Debra Lani, F-51, of no permanent address, James Lucas M-46, of Ainaloa Subdivision, Leona Lucas, F-56, of Ainaloa Subdivision, Joseph Souza, M-52, of Nanawale Subdivision, Donna Tarape, F-54, of Nanawale Subdivision, Lionel Tarape, M-56, of Nanawale Subdivision, and Gregory Wright, M-53, of Nanawale Subdivision, for Meth Trafficking and Promoting a Dangerous Drug. Bail is set at $100,000 for each individual.
