Police are renewing their request for the public's help in providing any information that may assist in the investigation of a missing Hilo man identified as Leslie DeloSantos. He was last seen by family members in late December 2006 and is believed to have gone picking.   

On January 7, 2007, family members realized DeloSantos was missing. Personal belongings were found at a fishing spot DeloSantos frequented known as "Diablo," which is located mauka of the Onomea cemetery.

On January 8, 2007 the Hawaii County Fire Department conducted an air and ground search but was unable to locate the missing man.  

The case has been classified as a missing person investigation and is being investigated by detectives with the Police Department's Criminal Investigations Section.

Police ask that anyone with information about his whereabouts call Detective Uwao Chartrand at 961-2382 or the Police Department's non-emergency number at 935-3311. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona.
