...charged with meth trafficking

A 38-year-old Puna man has been arrested and charged with meth trafficking after vice officers served a search warrant on his property and recovered crystal methamphetamine and cash.

Police had received numerous complaints from neighbors over the last several months about drug dealing from a home on 40^th Avenue in the Orchidland subdivision in Puna.  Vice officers eventually were able to obtain a search warrant, which was served on Wednesday evening (June 4) at 6:50 p.m. Officers recovered approximately four ounces (113 grams) of crystal methamphetamine ("ice") and 41.5 grams of dried marijuana. They also seized $2,600 in cash for forfeiture. 

At the house, officers arrested 38-year-old Bill Shane Vierra, 42-year-old Edwina Delossantos, 21-year-old Kekoa Vierra, 20-year-old Edward Vierra and 33-year-old Chad Namoc, all of Keaau. Namoc was also arrested on an unrelated probation revocation warrant. 

Upon consulting with prosecutors, Bill Shane Vierra was charged on Thursday (June 5) with first-degree meth trafficking, drug paraphernalia and promoting a detrimental drug. He was released after posting $12,500 bail.

The remaining suspects were released pending further investigation.
