MEDIA RELEASE

South Kohala police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the person responsible for a burglary which took place in the district of South Kohala on Lihipali Road.

On Wednesday (May 3, 2006) at approximately 1:08 p.m., officers were dispatched to an alarm call at a residence located on Lihipali Road. Upon arrival, contact was made with the victim’s neighbor who stated he observed an unknown male party on foot enter the neighbor’s house through the rear and set off the home security system. The neighbor then stated he observed the unknown male party exit through the front door of the residence and begin to run on foot heading east on Lihipali Road.

The neighbor was able to take multiple photos of the unknown male as he exited the residence and fled on foot. The suspect was described by the neighbor as being a young local male, medium complexion with short, dark curly hair. Through the photos taken, the suspect is observed to be wearing a light blue polo style shirt with white lines which go horizontal across the shirt, dark blue surf shorts with a light color pattern, which is located along the left leg and all white tennis shoes.

Police have initiated a Burglary case and are continuing the investigation.
