Big Island community police officers and members of the Mothers Against Drunk Driving will hold a joint demonstration Saturday (December 8, 2001) in Puna to warn motorists against driving while intoxicated.

From noon to 3 p.m., they will conduct a seat belt and DUI checkpoint on the Keaau bypass road (Route 130) in front of Keaau High School.

They will be joined by Puna and Hilo high school students as well as concerned members of the public.

The group will also waive signs and pass out aerial ribbons and brochures to motorists to publicize their campaign against drunk driving.
