Eighty-five basketball teams, composed of 400 youths aged 6 through 17, competed in the “Click It or Ticket” 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament held on Saturday, November 15, and Sunday, November 16, 2003, at Keaau High School Gymnasium.

In the 8-and-Under Division, Warriors upended Garden Exchange 11-1 for the championship. Stingrays finished third.

In the 9-10 Division, Warriors Blue 1 ran away from Warriors Silver 11-2 to claim the title. Warriors Blue 2 finished third.

In the 11-12 Division, Eastside Playaz ousted the Cougars 15-7 in the title game. Gameboyz 2 finished third.

In the 13-14 Division, Kamehameha edged Stingrays 8-6 to win the division. Pahoa Boys finished third.

In the Boys High School Division, Stingrays defeated Rebels 21-13 to claim top honors. What Evas finished third.

In the Elementary Girls Division, Keaau outplayed Cougars Green 15-9 for the title. Kamehameha finished third.

In the Intermediate Girls Division, Zoom 1 outlasted Kamehameha 10-6 in the finals. Zoom 2 finished third.

In the Girls High School Division, Stingrays 1 claimed the title with a 14-9 win over Stingrays 2. Keaau finished third.

“The goal of the ‘Click It or Ticket’ 3-on-3 Tournament was to increase awareness of the seat belt law requiring youths and teens in the front and back seats to be belted,” said Sergeant Randy Apele of the Traffic Section. “Ultimately it’s about reducing injuries and saving lives.”
