Five arrested in Hilo drug bust 03-08-02

Acting on complaints from the community, Hawaii County police officers arrested five persons Friday (March 8, 2002) at a Hilo address for a variety of drug offenses.

Aided by officers from the Hilo Vice Section, Hilo Criminal Investigation Section and South Hilo Patrol Division, Community Police Officers at 1 p.m. served a warrant at a Hale Manu Drive residence.

A man and four women were arrested. The suspects were identified as Henry Villanueva, 41, no permanent address; Patrice Kawaauhau, 29, of a Hilo address; Renee Method, 46, of no permanent address; Jaimie Galdones, 38, who lives at the residence; and Ululani Tammie Evangelista, 44, of a Hilo address.

All five were arrested for promotion of a dangerous drug, promotion of a harmful drug and illegal possession of drug paraphernalia. Galdones was also arrested for contempt of court.

After questioning by police, three of the suspects were released. Two suspects with warrants issued for them, Galdones and Villanueva, were being held in lieu of bail. Galdones’ bail had been set at $200 and Villanueva’s at $4,500

Police raided the residence after receiving numerous nuisance calls to the address as well as complaints to Community Police Officers from residents in the area taking part in the Neighborhood Watch program.
