MEDIA RELEASE

Four male suspects have been arrested in a robbery that occurred on November 24, 2004, at a residence in Pahoa, Puna.

The suspects were identified as Kimo Palanki Kaneakua, 19, of Pahoa, Puna; Dysen Lee Nakano-Domen, 18, of Waianae, Oahu; Michael R. Kapika, 19, of Pahoa, Puna; and Alisa Lucky Meafou, 20, of no permanent address in Puna.

The victim of the robbery told police he was confronted by three men wearing ski masks, brandishing firearms and demanding certain property the victim said he didn’t have. The masked gunmen then left with an undisclosed amount of cash without harming the victim and escaped in a vehicle driven by a fourth male suspect.

The suspects were arrested over the past several days.

Kapika was charged with first-degree robbery and released on $5,000 bail. Nakano-Domen was charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree burglary and is being held in the Hilo police cellblock in lieu of $7,000 bail.

Kaneakua and Meafou were released pending further investigation in the case, although Meafou is being held under a bench warrant for an unrelated case.
