I. WHEN MEMBERS AUTHORIZED TO BE AT VOTING PLACES

Members of the department shall remain away from all election polls except when engaging in one of the following activities:

A. Casting their own ballots.

B. Assisting in maintaining peace at the polls after being ordered to the voting place for such purpose by competent authority.

II. PURPOSE OF POLICY

The purpose of this policy is to prevent any possible accusation on the part of any person that the police department is attempting to influence the vote in any way.
