The most recent edition of the Crime Stoppers television program “Hawaiʻi Island’s Most Wanted” highlights a man wanted for a scam that preys on unemployed construction workers, a man wanted for auto theft and a man wanted for burglary.

The new episode began airing Friday, April 8.

In it, police ask for the public’s help in locating a 44-year-old man who offered construction jobs to persons willing to travel to the mainland. He asked for advance payment for union dues and air transportation and then disappeared with the victims’ money without providing the jobs. Orlando J. Paez, also known as Kimo Manu, is described as 5-foot-9, 260 pounds with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. His last known addresses were in Oregon and Honolulu but he may be recruiting victims here or on other islands.

The television program also asks for help in locating a 23-year-old Puna man wanted for outstanding warrants. Jason Shawn K. Chang of Mountain View has two warrants for contempt of court. In addition to the warrants, he is wanted for questioning in connection with an auto theft case. Chang is described as part Chinese and Hawaiian, about 5-foot-8, 140 pounds with short black hair and a light mustache. He has numerous tattoos.

In this latest edition of “Hawaiʻi Island’s Most Wanted,” Officer Patrick Menino also asks for help in locating a 21-year-old Puna man wanted on an arrest warrant in connection with a burglary. Maika W. Tilton of Keaʻau is described as Hawaiian, 5-foot-9, 155 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

“Hawaiʻi Island’s Most Wanted” is a project of Crime Stoppers Hilo, Inc., which is a partnership of the business community, the media and the police. It was inspired by the national TV show, “America’s Most Wanted.” The program airs on Na Leo O Hawaiʻi Community Television Channel 54 on Sundays at 5 p.m. and Fridays at 5:30 p.m. It also airs intermittently on Channel 53.
