The Hawaiʻi Police Department is reminding the public that it is hosting the HI-PAL “Click It or Ticket” 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament on August 10-12 at the newly completed covered facility in Panaʻewa. This event is part of the “Click It or Ticket” series of basketball tournaments.

Team entries are being accepted in the following age groups: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, high school boys, girls 10 & under, girls 12 & under, girls 14 & under and high school girls. The age cut-off date is December 31, 2012.

Deadline for teams to enter is August 6. Each team is required to complete a registration packet, which must be submitted by August 6.

Teams interested in participating or anyone requesting additional information may call Officer Joseph Botehlo Jr. in East Hawaiʻi at 961-2220 or Officer Randy Morris in West Hawaiʻi at 326-4646, extension 258.

In addition to the tournament, the Hawaiʻi Police Department will have information available on safe driving and seat belt use.

“Click It or Ticket” is a national education and enforcement campaign to increase seat belt use and decrease traffic fatalities and injuries. The Hawaiʻi Police Department encourages all youth, teens and adults to use their seat belts.
