…suspected in Hilo theft

Big Island police are renewing their request for the public’s help in identifying an unknown person responsible for a theft at a Hilo grocery store last month.

Hilo patrol officers responded to KTA Superstore on Puainako Street around 6:16 p.m. on October 25. The female victim reported that an unknown man took a wallet from her purse and fled on foot.

The suspect is described as a local male, approximately 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-8, 160 pounds with gold or brown spike hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, black slippers and no shirt.

Police ask that anyone with information on his identity or whereabouts call Detective Norbert Serrao at 961-2383 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.
