Big Island police are looking for witnesses to a robbery at a fast food restaurant in downtown Hilo on Sunday night (March 6).

Sometime between 9 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., two unknown men tried to remove the wallet from a 57-year-old Hilo man in the parking lot of the restaurant at 255 Kino’ole Street.

One of the suspects is described as 5-foot-11, husky with shoulder-length black hair and wearing a baseball cap with the bill facing back. The other was described as about 6-feet tall, 185 pounds with short hair and diamond earrings.

Police would like to speak with a couple who assisted the victim and to any other witnesses who were in the area during the robbery attempt. Police ask that witnesses or anyone else with information on this case call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.
