Phillip Luceano Colleoni
…charged with false reporting and other offenses

Media Release

A 45-year-old Ocean View man was taken into police custody after being arrested for making a false report to police.

Kona Community Policing Officers responded to a reported “man with a gun” call around 3 p.m. on Wednesday (December 17). Responding officers made checks in the area but were unable to locate anyone described by the reporting party.

Upon checking how the call was received by dispatch, officers learned that the male caller was supposedly observing this man with a gun through binoculars and that the call was placed from an area where it was not possible to view this location.

Officers made contact with the caller, who initially provided a false name to police. He was identified as Phillip Luceano Colleoni and was arrested for the false reporting case.

Further investigation revealed that in November, Colleoni was responsible for breaking a glass showcase at a jewelry store in the Kings Shops in Waikoloa. Damage in that case was estimated at $400.

Officers also determined that on December 11, Colleoni was responsible for calling in a bomb threat to a jewelry store at the Kings Shops in Waikoloa.

He was charged at 5:30 p.m. Thursday with fourth-degree criminal property damage, second-degree terroristic threatening and false reporting to law enforcement.

Colleoni was being held at the Kealakehe Police Station cellblock in lieu of $4,000. bail pending an initial court appearance.
