Big Island police are asking for the public’s help in finding a Kailua-Kona man wanted on suspicion of unlawful imprisonment and terroristic threatening.

The suspect was identified as James Boyd Brumaghim, 26, who is called by his second name, “Boyd.” Brumaghim is described as being local, having a tan complexion, being 5-feet-5 in height, weighing about 150 pounds with a medium build and having black hair and brown eyes.

The suspect is wanted on an arrest warrant for allegedly going to his girlfriend’s place of work and threatening her with a kitchen knife.

Anyone with information about Brumaghim’s whereabouts is asked to call Detective Wayne Young of the Kona Criminal Investigation Section at 326-4275.

Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 329-8181 in Kona or 961-8300 in Hilo. The numbers are answered 24 hours a day. Callers will be given a coded number and their identity will remain anonymous. Callers may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 if their call leads to an arrest, indictment or the recovery of property. Crime Stoppers neither subscribes to “Caller ID,” nor does it record phone calls.
