Kona patrol officers have arrested two of three persons suspected of committing several burglaries in the Kona District.

While investigating a new burglary case Saturday (September 13, 2003), officers found and arrested Dean “Kalei” Waltjen, 30, of Hilo, and Enoka Ulu, 28, of Kailua-Kona.

Police are still looking for the third suspect, Roy Tolentino Jr., 30, of Kailua-Kona.

Waltjen and Ulu are being held in the Kona police cellblock pending further investigation.

On Friday, police issued a news release identifying the three men as persons suspected of several burglaries in the Kona District, and they asked for the public’s help in finding them.

In the news release, residents of the Kona District who have recently been burglarized and have had jewelry or electronic items stolen are asked to call Detective Juergen Canda of the West Hawaii Criminal Investigation Section at 326-4230.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Tolentino is asked to call Detective Canda or the police non-emergency number at 935-3311 immediately.

Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. The numbers are answered 24 hours a day. Callers will be given a coded number and their identity will remain anonymous. Callers may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 if their call leads to an arrest, indictment or the recovery of property. Crime Stoppers neither subscribes to “Caller ID,” nor does it record phone calls.
