Kona search warrants result in 14 drug arrests 09-30-03

West Hawaii Vice Section and Kona community policing officers have conducted four search warrants and arrested 14 suspects over the past three weeks. The department’s Special Response Team was also called in to assist in one of these warrants.
The search warrants resulted in the recovery of more than 70 grams of “ice,” or crystal methamphetamine; 13.7 grams of dried marijuana; and small amounts of heroin and psilocybin mushrooms. In addition, four firearms, $3,228 in cash and 98 various pills and tablets were also seized.
On Tuesday (September 30, 2003), police executed the latest search warrant on a Captain Cook residence in South Kona. Following the recovery of crystal methamphetamine, dried marijuana and firearms, police arrested Teddy B. Talladen, 44, and Desiree R. Marquardt, 29. The two were charged with various offenses and have posted a combined bail of $10,500.
Police are continuing their efforts to combat the ice” problem. The 24-hour anonymous vice/drug hotline is a means for the public to provide the West Hawaii and East Hawaii Vice Sections with information relating to illicit drug use and distribution.
The numbers to call are 329-0ICE (329-0423) with information pertaining to the districts of Ka’u, Kona, South Kohala and North Kohala, and 934-VICE (934-8423) with information pertaining to the districts of Puna, South Hilo, North Hilo and Hamakua.
