At 1:25 p.m. on May 22, Kona patrol officers responded to a report of a stabbing at Laʻaloa Beach Park—also known as White Sands Beach—on Aliʻi Drive. The victim, a 39-year-old Ocean View man, had reportedly been at the park with family members when he got into a verbal dispute with another man. The other man reportedly stabbed him in the side of the neck and then fled in a white Jeep.
The victim was taken to Kona Community Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and released.
