Hawaiʻi Island police have charged a South Kohala man with attempted murder and other offenses in connection with an altercation that turned violent in Waikoloa on Sunday night (October 12).

At 9:20 p.m. Tuesday (October 14), 34-year-old Aaron Nakamoto of Waikoloa was charged with attempted second-degree murder, second-degree assault and disorderly conduct. His bail was set at $500,000.He remained at the Kona police cellblock pending his initial court appearance Wednesday morning (October 15).
