Hilo Criminal Investigation Section officers arrested a man and a woman after finding marijuana while executing a search warrant Tuesday (July 23, 2002) at a residence in the Kalapana Black Sands subdivision of Puna.
The suspects arrested were identified as Melody Ancheta, also known as “Lando,” a male, 46, and Susan Marise Holler, a female, 44.
Assisted by officers from the department’s Special Response Team, police executing the search warrant recovered dried marijuana and marijuana seeds inside the residence. They also recovered 162 marijuana plants ranging in height from seedlings to five feet on an adjacent vacant property.
During the execution of the search warrant, officers recovered an unregistered Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun inside the residence.
The suspects were arrested for promotion of a detrimental drug, commercial promotion of marijuana and illegal possession of drug paraphernalia. They are being held in the Hilo police cellblock pending further investigation.
