Big Island police are requesting the public’s help in locating a 46-year-old Hilo woman who was reported missing.

Myra M. Hatayama is described as Japanese, about 5-feet tall and about 110 pounds. She has wavy shoulder-length brown hair, brown eyes and a tan complexion. Hatayama was last seen wearing a grey tank top, grey shorts and slippers.

She was last heard from between late Friday evening (March 4) and early Saturday morning (March 5) and has not been seen since.

Police ask that anyone who may have seen Hatayama or have information on her whereabouts call Detective Reed Mahuna at 961-2384.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Crime Stoppers is a volunteer program run by ordinary citizens who want to keep their community safe.
