Media Release

The Aloha Exchange Club of East Hawai’i recognized Officer Clarence Davies on Thursday (June 24) as “Officer of the Month” for June.

Davies, a member of the Traffic Enforcement Unit, was honored for his outstanding DUI and traffic enforcement during the month of April. He arrested 13 drivers for driving under the influence, along with an additional 12 moving violations stemming from the DUI arrests. He also issued 123 speeding citations, 59 moving citations, 15 unsafe vehicle citations, 82 regulatory citations, 23 seat belt citations and three child restraint citations.

“Being that our unit has two vacant positions, Officer Davies went above and beyond of what is expected of him as an officer of the Traffic Enforcement Unit so that our goals for the month could be made,” said Sergeant Christopher Gali, who nominated Davies for the award. “Officer Davies is also committed to keeping our roads and highways safe for our citizens and visitors from traffic crashes which could lead to injury or death and cause heartache for a family.”

As “Officer of the Month,” Davies is eligible for “Officer of the Year.”

The East Hawaii “Officer of the Month” award is a project of the Aloha Exchange Club of Hilo.
