The Kona Crime Prevention Committee recognized Kona Patrol Officer Jason Foxworthy as “Officer of the Month” for July in a luncheon ceremony on Wednesday (July 11) at Huggo’s restaurant in Kailua-Kona.
Foxworthy was honored for being what his supervisor described as “a consistent producer.”
While working the afternoon shift in April, he investigated 19 incidents, 25 miscellaneous public complaints and three traffic collisions. During the same period, he made seven adult arrests resulting in 10 charges. Four of those were for driving under the influence of intoxicants. He also issued traffic citations for 19 violations.
Sergeant Raymond Childers, who nominated Foxworthy for the honor, noted that over the first four months of the year, Foxworthy investigated 107 incidents, 109 miscellaneous public complaints and 10 traffic collisions. He made 22 adult arrests that led to 34 charges—including six for DUI. He also issued traffic citations for 131 violations.
“It is a pleasure supervising an officer of his drive and work ethic who consistently displays a positive can-do attitude,” Childers said.
As “Officer of the Month,” Foxworthy is eligible to become “Officer of the Year.”
The Kona Crime Prevention Committee is an organization that encourages community involvement in aiding and supporting police in West Hawaiʻi.
