POLAROID CAMERAS — The Hawaii County Police Department has accepted 105 Polaroid Express cameras to help police officers investigate domestic violence cases. The cameras, gifts from Mr. and Mrs. Bill True, part-time residents of Kailua-Kona, will be used to document injuries and to assist with investigations relating to domestic violence. Shown here are Detective Alexander Graves of the Kona Juvenile Aid Section, left; County Council Member Nancy Pisicchio, who introduced a resolution authorizing acceptance of the gift; Captain Ronald Nakamichi, commander of the Ka’u District; Lieutenant Donald Watson of the South Kohala District; Sergeant Delphine Soares of the North Kohala District; Carole Gruskin, West Hawaii coordinator for the Rural Community Response Project, who put the Trues in touch with the department; and Captain John Dawrs, commander of the Kona District.
