Big Island police are looking for two male suspects who allegedly tried to kidnap a female minor waiting at a school bus stop Monday morning (May 2, 2005) in the Honaunau area of South Kona.
Responding to a report of an attempted kidnapping, Kona patrol officers determined that the minor was waiting alone for the bus when a black compact sedan with two males inside drove up to her. The front seat passenger in the vehicle grabbed her wrist and attempted to pull her into the car. The female minor was able to break free and to run from the area. The two male suspects within the vehicle were described as being in their early to middle 20s in age and wearing baseball caps.
The case has been referred to the West Hawaii Juvenile Aid Section for further investigation.
