Police seek diving spear gun thieves 12-10-02

Police are looking for a thief or thieves who entered the Blue Water Hunter in Kaloko light industrial area of Kailua-Kona last month and stole more than $4,000 worth of diving spear guns.
Police said that sometime in the early morning of Sunday, November 24, 2002, burglars entered a window on the makai section of the building and stole a number of wooden Riff spear guns.
Anyone with information about the burglary or the identity of the thieves is asked to call Officer Edwin A. Buyten of the Kona Patrol at 326-4646 or the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.
Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. The numbers are answered 24 hours a day. Callers will be given a coded number and their identity will remain anonymous. Callers may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 if their call leads to an arrest, indictment or the recovery of property. Crime Stoppers neither subscribes to “Caller ID,” nor does it record phone calls.
