Big Island police are looking for a 51-year-old fugitive who is wanted on an extradition warrant from San Mateo County in California where he is wanted for parole and probation violations.

The suspect was identified as Charles Halsey Weeks, whose whereabouts is unknown.

Weeks is described as being a Caucasian, being 5-foot-9 in height, weighing about 170 pounds and having brown eyes and brown hair with a receding hairline.

Weeks is reportedly working as a plasterer and mason, and he has family in Waikoloa Village and Waimea in South Kohala.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Detective Zack Houchin of the West Hawaii Criminal Investigation Section at 326-4232 or the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.

Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. The numbers are answered 24 hours a day. Callers will be given a coded number and their identity will remain anonymous. Callers may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 if their call leads to an arrest, indictment or the recovery of property.
