In the first incident, between 11 p.m. Saturday, December 2, and Monday, December 4, someone entered the Kealakehe High School gymnasium and stole four large speakers, valued at $2,200, used for the winter dance.

Two of the speakers were described as black trapezoidal-shaped speaker boxes about 3 to 4 feet in height and containing two JBL 18-inch speakers with black grills. The stereo system is described as being a Sony CD head unit, 4 JL audio subwoofers contained in a customized green textured painted speaker box more than three feet wise, three Sony amplifiers, miscellaneous wiring, connectors and a gold-plated distribution block.
