Police are seeking the public’s help in solving the theft of an all-terrain vehicle and a chain saw from the University of Hawaii’s Hamakua Experimental Station at Paauilo.
An investigation determined that the equipment was stolen sometime between 7:40 and 10:30 a.m. on Friday (October 27, 2000).
Stolen were a dark green 2000 Yamaha Timberwolf four-wheel all-terrain vehicle valued at about $5,000 and an orange and white STIHL chain saw valued at $250.
UHH officials described the ATV as clean with two white plastic straps on the front used to tie down equipment.
Anyone with information about theft or identity of the thief or thieves is asked to call Officer Rio Amon-Wilkins at 775-7534 or the police at 935-3311.
