Big Island police are seeking the public’s help in identifying three males who allegedly attempted to sexually assault a 10-year-old child in Milolii near the rubbish transfer station on April 10, 2004.

The child, who was not injured, later reported the incident at school.

Police are looking for an early 90’s model four-door Isuzu Trooper SUV, dark blue in color with dark tinted windows. The SUV’s spare tire, which is affixed to the rear of the vehicle, had a black covering on it without any words printed on it.

The driver is described as being a Samoan or black male with gold chains around his neck and a tribal tattoo on his left shoulder or upper arm.

The front seat passenger is described as being a black male with a goatee, and the back seat passenger was described as being a local male.

Anyone with information about the incident or the identity of any of the suspects is asked to call Detective Christopher Gali of the West Hawaii Juvenile Aid Section at 326-4268 or the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.
