HAWAII COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT
SOUTH HILO PATROL DIVISION
OFFICER ROBERT PULE
SEPTEMBER 19, 2003
Police are warning residents to be on guard against persons selling fraudulent automobile insurance policies.
Hilo police have received complaints that fraudulent sales personnel have stopped individuals leaving a local insurance agency offering to give them “a better deal” on automobile insurance.
Police also advised residents to contact their insurance agencies to make sure they have a current automobile insurance.
They also advised anyone with information about the phony insurance scam to call the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.
