MEDIA RELEASE UPDATE

Police have called off the search for a 48-year-old Puna man after he notified officers he was never missing.

The man, Gary Bailey, of a Hawaiian Acres subdivision address, met with Puna Patrol officers Saturday (March 8, 2003) at the Hawaiian Acres Community Association. Bailey said he was helping a friend with work in Ka’u and couldn’t call his family because his cell phone wasn’t working.

Bailey’s family had reported him missing Friday after he failed to return from his job in Kona the day before.
