Hilo Vice Section detectives and officers arrested seven persons while executing a drug search warrant Wednesday (July 11, 2001) at a residence in the Hawaiian Paradise Park subdivision of Puna.
During the 3:45 p.m. operation, police arrested three males and four females ranging in age from 42 to 18 for a variety of drug and other offenses.
Police also confiscated 14.7 grams of crystal methamphetamine, or “ice,” nine marijuana plants about two feet in height, 3.6 grams of dried marijuana, 26 and one-half tablets of Schedule 3 and 4 drugs and various drug paraphernalia.
They also seized a 1989 Ford Ranger truck valued at $5,000 and a 1989 Nissan sedan valued at $4,000 for possible forfeiture.
In addition, they seized a counterfeit $20 bill.
The males arrested were Ricky Matsuyama, 42, of Hawaiian Paradise Park; Shannon Alfapada, 29, of no permanent address; and Chad Shimaoka, 24, of the Ainaloa subdivision.
The females arrested were Susan Ann Pantalion, 39, of Hawaiian Paradise Park; Maria Spencer, 29, of Hilo; Nalani Carvalho, 20, of Hilo; and Chelea Masuno, 18, of Hilo.
The seven were released pending further investigation.
