Big Island police are seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect wanted for threatening his former girlfriend.
The suspect was identified as Albert L. Espaniola Jr., 22. Espaniola is described as being 5-feet-9 in height, weighing 150 pounds and having short brown hair with bangs and green eyes.
Espaniola is being sought for two incidents of violating an order for protection and three incidents of terroristic threatening.
Espaniola allegedly chased his former girlfriend to the Hilo police station early Saturday (October 7, 2000). The following morning, he was allegedly driven into the Bayside Chevron parking lot by an unidentified male and jumped into the victim’s car through the front passenger side window. He then grabbed his former girlfriend by the throat and started choking her. Before fleeing, he then threatened the occupants of the car with bodily injury if they called police on their cell phone.
Anyone with information about Espaniola’s whereabouts is asked to call Officer Terrance Johnasen or the Hilo police station at 961-2211.
