MEDIA RELEASE UPDATE

Two children who had been missing since May 26, 2006, were found Monday (July 10, 2006) in Florida with their biological mother. The mother, 30-year-old Diana Tamura, was arrested by Florida police for custodial interference.

The girls’ legal parents reported that they dropped off Chelsea Gouveia, 5, and Celeste Gouveia, 11, with Tamura the morning of May 27. The parents said Tamura failed to return the girls at a pre-arranged time later that morning.

Police issued an all-points bulletin for Tamura and the two girls and sought help from the public in locating them.
