Big Island police are asking for the public’s help in locating a Kona man wanted for various crimes stemming from an incident on December 15 between 7 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in Kona.

The suspect, 31-year-old Benjamin Acasio III, is described as 6-foot-2, 180 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. His last known address was in Kailua-Kona.

On December 15, an adult female reported that Acasio had grabbed her, choked her, sexually assaulted her and later threatened her with death.

Acasio is wanted for abuse, sexual assault and terroristic threatening. He is also wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Police ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
