Seventy-three basketball teams composed of over 500 youths aged 6 through 18 competed in the “Click It or Ticket” 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament held on Saturday, May 22, and Sunday, May 23, 2004, at Papaikou Gymnasium.

In the 8-and-Under Division, Piopio Bears upended Warrior Wahines 11-0 for the championship. Garden Exchange finished third.

In the 9-10 Division, Warriors 1 ousted Warriors 2 9-4 to claim the title. Garden Exchange finished third.

In the 11-12 Division, Delirious edged Warriors 12-11 in the title game. Piopio Bears finished third.

In the 13-14 Division, Kamehameha Blue out-gunned Kamehameha White 20-18 in the finals. Eastside finished third.

In the Boys High School Division, Delirious defeated Take It Outside 19-18 to claim top honors. Keaau Boys finished third.

In the Elementary Girls Division, Kamehameha out played Papaikou 8-2 for the title. Warriors finished third.

In the Intermediate Girls Division, 2 Geddah 2 outlasted Slammers 13-8 in the finals. 2 Geddag 1 finished third.

“This tournament is the kick-off for our ‘Click It or Ticket’ enforcement mobilization,” said Sergeant Randy Apele, head of the Traffic Services Section.

“From May 24 through June 6, 2004 officers’ island-wide will be heavily enforcing the seat belt usage laws. It’s part of a national zero-tolerance campaign to increase seat belt use and reduce fatalities and injuries in traffic crashes.”
