Big Island police have arrested a 17-year-old Puna boy for allegedly making a false bomb threat at Pahoa High School.

After being disciplined in school, the youth allegedly called from a pay phone outside the school library about 10:15 a.m. Tuesday (March 1, 2005), telling school officials, “There’s a bomb in your school.”

School officials then called police, who arrested the suspect about 1:30 p.m.

East Hawaii Juvenile Aid Section detectives are conferring with the County Prosecutor’s Office to bring possible felony charges against the suspect.

The suspect has been released pending further investigation by JAS detectives.
