MEDIA RELEASE

Big Island police arrested and charged Joseph Narzisi, 18, of no permanent address, on Wednesday (February 9, 2005) with a variety of burglary and theft offenses occurring within the Kailua-Kona area.

On February 3, 2005, Narzisi was identified fleeing in a vehicle from a residential area in Kealakehe, North Kona. After being pursued by police, Narzisi abandoned the vehicle, and police arrested another adult male inside the vehicle.

Police obtained a search warrant and discovered that the vehicle contained items stolen from several parked vehicles in Kona, as well as crystal methamphetamine and marijuana. Further investigation by West Hawaii Criminal Investigation Section detectives determined that Narzisi was responsible for entering a Kealakehe residence and removing a safe containing jewelry and a handgun.

The adult male found inside the vehicle was later released pending further investigation.

Acting on information received, officers located and arrested Narzisi at a residence in Kalaoa, North Kona. They also recovered the stolen handgun from the residence.

Officers arrested Narzisi and charged him with burglary, three counts of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and five counts of theft. Narzisi’s bail was set at $11,000.
