The Hawaiʻi Police Department has no greater responsibility than the health and safety of our citizens and staff. Therefore, in light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and with stringent state and county imposed measures to stop further spread of the virus, and to further provide efficiency in serving the public, firearms registration services at the Kealakehe Police Station located at 74-611 Hale Maka’i Place, Kailua-Kona, will be by appointment only, beginning Wednesday (April 1, 2020). Walk-in service without an appointment will no longer be provided, no exceptions.
The Firearms Section will be scheduling appointments Monday- Friday (except holidays) from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Members of the public who wish to make an appointment for firearms services at the Kealakehe Police Station should call (808) 326-4646, ext. 222. This change to an appointment based system reflects the cooperation and support from the community in an effort to enhance our services.
